Wheel bolt Aixam / MEGA / Minauto

The wheel bolt for the moped cars from Aixam, MEGA and Minauto is the metal fixing part that is permanently fitted into the wheel hub and onto which the wheel is secured with wheel nuts. The bolt has a serrated collar on the underside that is pressed into the hub during fitting and locks itself in place through the teeth, so that the bolt does not turn along when the wheel nut is tightened. On the upper side is a threaded shaft onto which the wheel nut is screwed. Four wheel bolts per wheel hub are needed, which together keep the wheel firmly in place while driving and take up the forces from braking, steering and pulling away.

You usually replace a wheel bolt after a removal where the serrated collar or the threaded shaft has been damaged by a wrong blow or over-tightening (the bolt shows visible burrs or deformation), after rust build-up around the serrated collar which lets the bolt sit loose in the hub and makes the wheel give off vibrations while driving (the teeth no longer grip tightly), or to make up for a loss when a bolt was broken or lost during an earlier wheel change or breakdown and the wheel was refitted with fewer bolts than prescribed. This wheel bolt is by Bonq and technically equivalent to the original part.
