Brake hose front Aixam / Grecav

The brake hose for the front of the Aixam and Grecav moped cars is the flexible part that connects the fixed metal brake line on the chassis to the brake caliper on the wheel. Because the wheel moves constantly while driving (going up and down over the road and turning with the steering), a rigid line is not possible at this point and the connection has to be made with a hose that can follow these movements without breaking. The hose fits both the left and the right side of the front.

A worn brake hose shows up as visible cracks, bulges or surface weathering on the outside of the hose on visual inspection (the rubber layer becomes weaker over time from heat and pressure), as brake fluid traces or damp spots around the connections of the hose at the chassis or the brake caliper (the seal is leaking under pressure), or as a brake pedal that feels spongy or soft when pressed (the hose expands under pressure instead of passing the pressure on).
